For over twenty years Stuart has coached world class sportsmen and women at county, regional, national and international level. His career at Gloucestershire, Surrey and Somerset saw him as Assistant Head Coach, Interim Head Coach and Specialist Bowling Coach, a natural progression from his first class playing career.

During his time as Head Coach of Bangladesh 1st XI, Stuart led the coaching team during a tour of the West Indies and the England Lions tour of Bangladesh and Bangalore. He designed and implemented training programmes for the squad with a focus on both individual player performance and team development, resulting in competitive overseas tours and a series win against the England Lions in Bangladesh.

For Ireland Cricket, Stuart held roles as Assistant Head Coach and National Bowling lead, working closely with the management team and squad on all aspects of performance resulting in a drawn series against South Africa and a series win against Zimbabwe. Many of the players Stuart worked with are playing franchise tournaments around the world.

From primary school cricketers, development pathway players and international stars, Stuart's ability to connect with cricketers at all levels to unlock potential and find sporting success is what sets him apart. He has worked with Tom Curran, leading white ball bowler for Surrey & England, Sam Curran, IPL star and recent T20 world cup winner and player of the competition, Test Captain Ben Stokes, England all-rounder Chris Woakes and Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, but finds greatest satisfaction in helping players of all levels improve their performance and finding long term success.

After reaching the pinnacle of his coaching training, Stuart qualified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which has helped shape both his coaching and performance philosophy. The Stuart Barnes Method is designed to help business leaders, coaches and players improve both individual and team performance by nurturing a winning mindset.
